Mission Desserts...Successes

So here's just some pictures of amazing, sugary creations that some of my friends and I have managed to create. Dinosaur and Unicorn cookies with Emilia Badilia and Sami at one of our amazing MLIA nights:) And, of course, rainbow cupcakes made by Lane and I. Recently, many people at my school have realized how easy it is to create these colorful cupcakes(color...and cupcakes? Perfectly amusing and distracting for us teenagers), so everyone has been making them:) simply make the batter, and separate it into however many bowls of different colors you want. Mix food coloring into bowls, and pour them in layers into the cupcake pan. ^-^ quite easy, and quite amazing. However you might want to double up the batter, it seems to make less cupcakes than supposed to. Oh, and by the way, that weird looking red circle cupcake? Yeah, its a Poke'ball. Because my boyfriend is that amazing and thinks of things like that.

WeHeartIt....All of It?

So, one of my very awesome friends, Izzy, recently introduced me to the website WeHeartIt.com. We Heart It is pretty much a website filled with quirky and beautiful photography, modeling, quotes, statements, etc. It's amazing and interesting to go through, really. Artwork, quirky Forever21/ Urban Outfitters-esque fashion(my taste indeed). As much as I adore it, however, it also has a downside on my mood. I'll go through the pictures, see all the stick-skinny and gorgeous models and feel like I'm not good enough. I mean, it's inspiring, but saddening. And, honestly, what teenage girl is going to look at a beautiful and skinny model with the words "You're beautiful, no matter what society thinks" printed on her hand, and actually feel better about themselves? It's just hard to relate to. I think girls need more than just "perfect" people to look up to. Perhaps it would be more uplifting to see a 100 pound blonde girl holding the hand of an overweight brunette with the same quote. <3

The California Accent

The other day I was explaining something to my mom, and while explaining I realized how much I over-used the word "like". As all of us here in California seem to, are we the only state?
Well anyways, I was sitting in English today, and our teacher always has us explain things, like symbolism and what-not. So when she calls on a student they usually have a lot to say. I couldn't help but notice how any times they said "like" while explaining. I started cracking up, really, really badly. I even got all the students sitting around me to laugh whenever someone spoke the dreaded word. I don't know how this will ever end.

Hmm, can we do the same thing with the over-use of hair flips....?

These Boots Were Made For Rockin

So here's a random bit of information, and one of my current-wants...
In the movie Whip It, where Bliss tries to buy those boots but her mom stops her because they're from a smoke shop, well I think those boots are kind of amazing. If you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about, her boots are faux-leather looking, go a couple inches above the ankle, resemble Dr. Martens, almost giving off an effect like Converse. Well, I've been wanting something like that lately. Not scary, crazy, goth ,ahhh, platform boots. Just some simple lil' boots, kinda edgy, kinda quirky, all amazing.(:

The Best Desserts Are Ones With Faces

So I found this amazing picture of a cookie monster cupcake a while ago online, and I just thought it was the coolest thing ever. I recently re-discovered it and it's amazing-ness, and luckily, I have the perfect occasion to make (attempt to make) these adorable things. My friend, Izzy, has a dad who owns an amazing music store in town called Faultline music. The store will be moving into the downtown area of town this Summer, and there's a kitchen upstairs at the new location. So of course, Izzy comes up with the idea for a bake sale, to which I say heckk yeshh! ...now lets just hope my cookie monster cupcakes don't end up looking like demented smurfs...

Also involving desserts....
Another friend of mine, Emily (also known as Emilia Badilia) and I are huge MLIAers (if you're thinking "huhhh?" then you seriously need to go to www.MyLifeIsAverage.com right now). One thing we often do to show our amazingly brahpin' MLIA-ness, is have MLIA nights, where we watch old Disney movies, drink from sippy cups, and color in coloring books. Amazing, yes? Well as a joke, when we first started MLIA nights, we said we should make cookies shaped like dinosaurs and unicorns for one. Well, guess what the amazing Emilia Badilia purchased this weekend in Santa Barbara? Dinosaur and unicorn cookie cutters! FTW!

By the wayy...you know how someone taught me to remember the difference in spelling dessert(as in sugary delicious-ness) and desert(as in yucky, dry, non-delicious-ness)? Well Dessert, has two "s" s in it, which is more than desert, which has one, and you will most likely have dessert in your life more often than you will be caught in a desert. :)

Uhmm...

Mmkay, so here's my useless blog. No one knows this exists (besides one of my closest friends, Takya), and I don't really understand the point of this at all. No one is reading this, right? Hm, well, I guess I'll just post random pictures, music and things. Kind of like a Facebook, just one that no one really sees, and see where things go from there? I really don't know, but I'll see how this goes!
